Julie Ward, Board President

Julie Ward was born and raised in Altadena and Pasadena. She graduated with a B.A. in History from UC Santa Cruz, and a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law. She was a litigation attorney for 24 years, and was a partner of Arnold & Porter LLP for the last eleven years of her practice. After her retirement, she taught Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy at USC School of Law. She has volunteered at a number of non-profit organizations, and has been on the board of several non-profits in addition to Families Forward, including the Pasadena Art Alliance (President and many other positions), Side Street Projects (ditto), and ArtCenter100 (Membership and Programs). She is deeply committed to the well-being of the families in the greater Pasadena community.

Julie’s now-adult children volunteered at Mothers’ Club (now Families Forward) when they were students at Polytechnic School in Pasadena. Among the many activities she enjoys are playing ping-pong, collecting contemporary art with her husband, reading, gardening, traveling, snorkeling, and being with her growing family, including her toddler grandson.
