Greg Mena is an Associate Professor of English at East Los Angeles College (ELAC), where he has been teaching for eight years. He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from California State University, Northridge, a Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Psychology from UCLA. Dr. Mena brings expertise in instruction (both in-person and online),educational administration, and curriculum development. He served as an English Tutoring Coordinator (Supplemental Instructional) at ELAC. He currently leads a father engagement program at Mayflower Elementary School in Monrovia, fostering active involvement and connection among fathers/father-figures and the school community.
Beyond the classroom, Greg is committed to developing accessible technology. As a software startup founder, he focuses on digital accessibility solutions including caption identification, real-time captioning, and translation. Greg finds balance through teaching yoga once a week at Sage Yoga in Old Town Monrovia.
